"Caning, Rushwork and Splint Weaving" with Robert Hause

We are delighted to announce that Robert Hause (yes, that Robert Hause -  renowned artisan, designer, and surfer) will be leading a Caning, Rushwork, and Splint Weaving Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Legacy Architectural Salvage.

Robert is a valued friend and we couldn't be more excited about this opportunity. He has designed and created truly astonishing pieces in his career. Not to mention being equally adept at riding the waves all across the globe. And, even though he is technically retired, he has agreed to bring his expertise to Legacy in the form of a Caning/Rushwork/Splint Weaving tutorial.

This experience will include a talk, demonstrations, and hands-on time for attendees. Yes, Robert will introduce you to the initial steps and methods of caning and so on. So, be ready to get busy. Perhaps, you'll even be inspired to get to work on that old dining chair or rocker that needs the seat or back redone.

And stay tuned - if this initial workshop is well received, we just may be able to persuade Robert to lead a Woodworking series in the near future.
